DNC - Former McCain Supporter, Dean John Hutson to Speak at Convention in Denver

MANCHESTER— Tonight, between 9:30-10:00 EST, former Republican John Hutson will speak in Denver at the Democratic National Convention. John Hutson is currently Dean and President of the Franklin Pierce Law Center, and served in the United States Navy from 1972-2000, obtaining the rank of Rear Admiral and assuming duties as the Judge Advocate General in May 1997. Tonight, Dean Hutson will share with the thousands of Democrats gathering in Denver why he supported John McCain in 2000 and is now supporting Sen. Obama. Dean Hutson was a registered Republican until October 2007, when he changed his party affiliation to vote for Sen. Obama in the New Hampshire primary.

Obama has a lifelong record of bringing people together to solve problems and deliver change. From working with community leaders and churches to help families affected by a weakening economy to reaching across party lines to expand access to health care, Barack Obama has spent his career in public service bringing people together to make progress on issues important to middle class families. Dean Hutson is one of the many Republicans and Independents who supported McCain in 2000 and are now supporting Obama.
