“Jeanne Shaheen’s address to the Democratic National Convention showcased her continued dependence on the standard, scripted, liberal talking points supplied by politician insiders and Washington partisans. In her speech, Shaheen failed to offer any specific ideas on how strengthen our economy and once again refused to support any efforts to expand domestic drilling and energy exploration.

Instead, Shaheen presented the same empty promise to lower taxes that she offered at the 1996 Democratic Convention. Granite Starters remember that she flip-flopped on this pledge, signing New Hampshire’s first statewide property tax and proposing a capital gains tax and a 2.5% sales tax that would have devastated the state’s economy.

Jeanne Shaheen’s speech tonight was just another reminder of her failed record and her inability to keep her election year promises.”
