Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter released the following statement to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.
“On the anniversary of the September 11th attacks, we remember the thousands of innocent men, women, and children who lost their lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families whose lives were forever changed that fateful Tuesday morning.
“We remember the incredible first responders, many of whom were killed in the line of duty. Our firefighters, police officers, and volunteers saved numerous lives that day. Even seven years later, these brave men and women continue to serve as an example to us all.
“The memory of September 11th reminds us that there is no greater priority than the safety and security of the American people. The United States must continue to dismantle, disrupt, and defeat terrorist organizations that wish to do us harm. I am proud that the 110th Congress has passed legislation which will enact the recommendations of the bi-partisan 9/11 Commission. Together, we must continue our work to prevent future terrorist attacks on our beloved land.”
