Senator Clinton is campaigning today in Kentucky for Senate candidate Bruce Lunsford. Hillary Sent Me! will kick off next weekend with Senator Clinton campaigning for Senator Obama in Michigan and volunteers heading to New Hampshire to canvass and help with other grassroots activities on behalf of Democratic candidates.

Hillary Clinton today unveiled “Hillary Sent Me! ,” a new grassroots organizing program designed to mobilize Hillary’s supporters and others across the country to help send Senators Barack Obama and Joe Biden to the White House , to work on behalf of this year’s critical Democratic races , and to get America back on track.

“As we continue to read the headlines about our troubled economy, the stakes of this election only get higher. Today I am asking all of you to hit the phones , hit the road and spread the word that we must elect Barack Obama President and we must send a filibuster-proof majority to Congress ,” said Senator Clinton.

“This is a call to action. We all have a role. And there is not a moment to lose ,” Clinton added. “Tell them that Hillary sent you.”

The program , organized by Hillary Clinton’s Political Action Committee , HillPAC , working with the Obama-Biden presidential campaign and other Democratic campaigns across the country , will launch Saturday morning at www.HillPAC.com . Supporters visiting the website will find information on canvassing, phone banking, blogging and other grassroots activities in critical battleground states.

“In addition to the unprecedented grassroots effort that the Obama campaign is executing across the country , I want to help ensure that as many people as possible are engaged and active in this election ,” Clinton said.

Each weekend, Hillary Sent Me! will focus on a different battleground state , while providing contact information for supporters looking to work on behalf of Democrats in any of the battleground states around the country.

Hillary Sent Me! will mobilize supporters to campaign in New Hampshire the weekend of September 27th and 28th. New Hampshire is a critical state for Democrats this fall , not only in the race for the White House , but also for important Congressional elections such as Jeanne Shaheen’s close Senate race against incumbent Senator John Sununu.

In the weeks leading up to the election , Hillary Sent Me! will also focus on sending volunteers to Pennsylvania the weekend of October 12th and 13th , as well as Ohio , and key states in the west.

Tomorrow , visit www.HillPAC.com to sign up and get the most up to date information.

The following are excerpts from yesterday’s conference call where Senator Hillary Clinton unveiled Hillary Sent Me! with supporters and special guest, New Hampshire Senate candidate Jeanne Shaheen.

Senator Hillary Clinton: Thanks to everyone who has joined the call this afternoon. I am very excited by the program that we are going to be rolling out with you today…I want to invite you to take part in something that continues the historic journey that you have made with me. I know that all of you worked your hearts out and your continued faith and support in me is truly gratifying. I have been traveling across the country for Senator Obama since June. I have been so excited to hear about the enthusiasm and energy that exists for our Democratic candidate.

I am also hearing from people from all backgrounds that are being hurt by the failures of the current administration. Certainly, today as we are seeing the treasury department and the Federal Reserve announce this unprecedented intervention in the markets to try to stabilize them, we are well aware of the necessity that our country faces in terms of new leadership starting in January.

On the one hand, we have the Democratic Party with Barack Obama and Joe Biden offering the positive ideas, the competence and caring that is desperately required. On the other hand we have John McCain and Sarah Palin offering very little in the way of solutions and simply four more years of the same failed policies.

Today, I am happy to announce the ‘Hillary Sent Me’ grassroots program for my supporters across America. Starting tomorrow, please visit my website www.hillpac.com to find information on the critical races in the battleground states that need our help in these final days.

Each weekend, Hill PAC will focus on a different battleground state, but supporters can find a way to be involved in any state at any time. I am headed to Michigan on September 27, to Pennsylvania in October, to other states along the way. I have already been to Florida twice, to Ohio, to Nevada, to New Mexico. I have been at events from Boston to San Francisco on behalf of Senator Obama and Senator Biden. I am going to continue to cover as much ground as possible, but I am asking all you to head to New Hampshire on September 27th and 28th. That will be our kickoff event for Hillary Sent Me.

On the website you can connect to Obama campaign offices and Democratic Party offices to find out about canvasses, phone banks, blogging, and other grass roots activities in those states and you can just tell them that ‘Hillary sent you.’

We always knew that we would have a tough election, that it would be close, and it’s critical that no matter who you supported in the primary, Democrats come together along with like-minded Independents and even Republicans who want to change our country. I am especially excited to get everyone together to make the positive case on behalf of our ticket of Barack Obama and Joe Biden and to defeat the McCain Palin ticket. We especially need to send more Democrats to the Congress, especially to the Senate.

With New Hampshire being our first stop, I am very pleased to introduce our special guest. She is the candidate for the United States Senate in New Hampshire. She was a very successful Governor. She is a dear friend from a state that has a special place in my heart. From New Hampshire, Governor Jeanne Shaheen.

Former Governor Jeanne Shaheen: Thank you so much Hillary. Thank you too for this wonderful effort you have underway. I think it’s very exciting and I am so thrilled that New Hampshire is going to be the first state to benefit from volunteers coming from other parts of the country to help us in this race. As you said, this is a very tough campaign. New Hampshire is a battleground state. It’s very important not just in the presidential race, but we’ve got this big Senate race here.

I like to tell people this is a twofer, you can come up, you can work in the presidential race, you can work in the Senate race, and of course about this time in the year we’ve got beautiful fall foliage, so you can also enjoy the beauty of New Hampshire while you are here. We can make sure you have a very good time while you are here.

I also want you to know how important I think your efforts are. I know you were very important throughout the primary process as you traveled to states. Here in New Hampshire, I am sure many of you came to New Hampshire during our presidential primary, so you know how important that person-to-person campaigning is.

In my race here for the US Senate, we have a wonderful opportunity to take this seat away from John Sununu, who has voted with George Bush 90% of the time. He has voted down the line with Bush on his economic plan, down the line with him on his budgets, down the line with him on the war in Iraq. We’ve got an opportunity to take back this seat, but it’s not going to be easy, as Senator Clinton has said. John Sununu has some big cash advantage over us. We are counting on person-to-person efforts, talking to voters one at a time to convince them what’s at stake in November and why it’s so important that we change the direction of this country.

Your being here can make a huge difference. You will be very helpful to us as we’re canvassing. We’ve got major efforts underway, going out door to door on a regular basis. We have a great coordinated campaign here. We’re working closely with the top of the ticket with Senator Obama’s campaign. We’re working closely all the way down the ticket. We’ve got a number of students, college students, from around the state and around the country who are helping us. We’ve got lots of working people out there knocking on doors. This is a real opportunity to make a difference in New Hampshire. I hope you’ll come up and help us. We’d love to have you stay as long as you want.

Again, I really appreciate Senator Clinton, your taking this initiative and encouraging people to come up to New Hampshire, it’s really important to us, it can make a huge difference. Thank you for all of the work that you are doing.

Senator Hillary Clinton: Well Jeanne, I am so excited about your race and I know how important it is. I am very confident that you are going to be victorious, but we can’t take anything for granted. I know from personal experience how important voter-to-voter, person-to-person contact is in New Hampshire. It’s a lot of fun too. It’s a great place to campaign. It’s such a wonderful time of year to be there.

Both Senator Obama and Governor Shaheen need your help in New Hampshire. I hope you will join this grassroots call to action for my supporters across the country to join me in doing all you can to help send a Democrat to the White House and more Democrats to Washington to help get our country back on track. If there was ever any doubt about how high the stakes were in this election, the events of the last two weeks should have removed ever scintilla of doubt.

This is so important. Starting tomorrow you can visit our Hillary Sent Me! webpage at www.hillpac.com . You can find out what states need our help, you can wear these neat buttons that have been made up that say “Hillary Sent Me!”

Call your friends and everybody that you worked with on my behalf and get them to be part of this winning campaign for Democrats.
