DOVER – Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota will be the keynote speaker at the annual Strafford County Democratic Victory Dinner Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Great Bay Gallery, 25 Willand Rd. in Somersworth.
Sen. Klobuchar, one of the rising stars of the Democratic Party, was elected to the Senate in 2006. A former two-term County Attorney in Hennepin County (Minneapolis), Sen. Klobuchar brought her “Minnesota moral compass” to the Senate as she works for economic justice for the middle class and ethics reform. She was recently named Best in Congress by Working Mother magazine for improving the American quality of life through family-friendly work policies.
“We’re honored that Sen. Klobuchar will be joining us at the Victory Dinner,” Strafford County Democratic chair Caitlin Daniuk said. “She represents the forward-looking change Democrats can bring to New Hampshire and the nation.”
Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter and New Hampshire Democratic Party chair Raymond Buckley will also be featured speakers at the Victory Dinner, one of the annual highlights of the local political calendar. Candidates for county and state offices in the Nov. 4 election will also be on hand to greet supporters.
“Our sweeping success at the polls in 2006 was the result of hard work by hundreds of Strafford County Democrats working together,” Daniuk said. “We are reaching out to Democrats, independents and Republicans between now and Nov. 4 to keep New Hampshire moving forward and address the serious challenges facing our nation.”
Tickets are $40 and may be reserved by contacting Strafford County chair Caitlin Daniuk at (603) 842-4028 or firstname.lastname@example.org . A limited number of sponsorships are also available for $100. All proceeds from the Victory Dinner support Democratic candidates at the national, state and county level.
