Washington, DC --- Today, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter announced that she won a seat on the Natural Resources Committee. Since Shea-Porter is already a member of both the Armed Services Committee and the Education and Labor Committee, shereceived a waiver from her House Colleagues to allow her to serve on a third committee.
“I am so honored to sit on the Natural Resources Committee, which plays an essential role in protecting and preserving our oceans, forests, and national parks,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter. “I am going to help defend and preserve both New Hampshire and America’s environment and its resources.”
The Natural Resources Committee is responsible for ensuring the responsible use and development of our nation’s fisheries, national parks, oceans, and mineral resources. In addition to protecting our nation’s natural resources, the Committee will also focus on combating climate change, enhancing energy development, and protecting endangered species during the 111th Congress.
