LPNH - Libertarians Endorse Spending Cap

Manchester -- At their annual convention last week, the Libertarian Party of NH endorsed the proposed spending cap for Manchester on the November ballot. Several party members helped with collecting signatures for the measure and were deeply disappointed at the delay created by some on the city council forcing the voters of Manchester to wait an extra year before having their say on whether this measure should be adopted.

The text of the resolution is as follows:

"Whereas, lower taxes are the result of lower spending by government, and whereas government should live within its means just as the citizenry does, the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire endorses the spending cap measure on the ballot in Manchester this November 2009 and encourages the citizens of Manchester to vote in its favor to gain somegreater control over their city's spending."
