Mayor Guinta calls Special Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting; will discuss how loss of rooms and meals revenue could affect Verizon Wireless Arena, city's bonding ability

MANCHESTER (February 27, 2009) – Mayor Frank Guinta announced that he has convened a special meeting of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen regarding Gov. John Lynch’s proposed biennial budget and the effect it would have on the city, the Verizon Wireless Arena and the city’s bond capacity. The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2009, in the Aldermanic Chambers, One City Hall Plaza, Manchester.


At the meeting, a presentation will be made by the city’s bond counsel to provide the board with all the potential scenarios that could occur if the proposed FY2010-11 state budget were approved.


The Manchester legislative delegation has been invited to the meeting as well as other community representatives.
