Shea-Porter Announces Nearly $800,000 Grant for Homeless Prevention

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter today announced that the First District will receive a 2009 Recovery Act Homeless Prevention Grant in the sum of $766,545. These funds are directed to prevent homelessness by providing short and medium-term housing assistance, housing relocation and stabilization services, security and utility deposits and payments, moving cost assistance, and case management for individuals and families.

“This grant is exactly what we need in these tough times,” stated Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter. “This grant will help people in my District who are struggling to keep a roof over their heads.”
