AJS - Buffett Opposes Card Check, Splits with Obama

Washington, D.C.- Americans for Job Security released an advertisement today highlighting Obama economic advisor and renowned businessman Warren Buffett’s comments against the “Employee Forced Choice Act,” and the results of Dr. Anne Layne-Farrar’s recent findings on the job loss that EFCA would bring.

“The Employee Forced Choice Act not only would eliminate a workers right to a Secret Ballot but would deliver devastating job losses at a time when our country is struggling to regain our economic footing,” said Stephen DeMaura, President of Americans for Job Security.

The ad features photos of both President Barack Obama and Warren Buffet and highlights their close relationship and Mr. Buffett’s opposition to the legislation. The advertisement is running today in select publications in Washington, DC.

“The recent findings of Dr. Anne Layne-Farrar’s study prove what we already knew, that the Employee Forced Choice Act would both cause hundreds of thousands of Americans to lose their jobs and stifle the creation of millions of new ones,” said Stephen DeMaura President of Americans for Job Security.

A recent study by Dr. Anne Layne Farrar of the non-partisan Law and Economic Consulting Group (LECG) shows passage of the so-called “Employee Free Choice Act,” would cost our country 600,000 jobs in its first year with millions more jobs at risk in years to come.
