Shea-Porter Resolution Recognizes Social Workers

Resolution Passes House of Representatives Unanimously


Washington, DC – Yesterday, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter introduced a resolution supporting the goals and ideals of Professional Social Work Month and World Social Work Day. This resolution, which passed unanimously, highlights the important work done by social workers everywhere.

“Social workers provide valuable support to children, seniors, and families,” stated Congresswoman Shea-Porter. “I wanted Congress to recognize and thank social workers for their selflessness and dedication.”

The month of March is designated as Professional Social Work Month. This year’s theme is “Social Work: Purpose and Possibility.”
