Washington, DC – Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter today announced that the First District will receive $1,655,100 through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program. These funds will help reduce total energy use and fossil fuel emissions, and improve energy efficiency nationwide. The towns benefitting from these grants break down as follows: $1,049,400 for Manchester, $133,200 for Derry, $126,500 for Rochester, $123,400 for Dover, $116,400 for Merrimack, and $106,200 for Londonderry. These funds are through the Department of Energy as a result of the passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
