Shea-Porter Announces $9.7 million in Funding for New Hampshire Law Enforcement

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter today announced that New Hampshire will receive more than $9.7 million in funding through the Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program. This funding is being released through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

“New Hampshire is considered one of the safest states in the nation and it is important that we keep it that way,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter. “This funding will provide law enforcement officials with the tools they need to prevent crime.”

The JAG Program, which is administered by Office of Justice Program’s Bureau of Justice Assistance, provides states and local governments with the assistance they need to help keep local residents safe and to improve the criminal justice system.
