CONCORD – Today, former New Hampshire Governor and Republican State Committee Chairman John H. Sununu released the following statement on the Democrat’s efforts to hide their legislative game-playing from the public:

It’s a disgrace that the Democrats again are keeping secrets from the public by violating legislative procedure. Their ‘let’s-not-let-the-public-know-what-we-are-doing” straw poll in the Senate Rules Committee today is a violation of the public’s Right to Know, as was the Democrat’s stealthy straw poll in the House Ways and Means Committee two weeks ago. But what can you expect from a Party whose candidate in the District 3 special election is telling the public: I don’t have to tell you my positions while I am running for public office.”

Two Weeks Ago The Democrats Held A Stealthy Straw Poll In The House Ways And Means Committee:

Union Leader: “Republicans were angry that Democrats seem to be short-circuiting the usual legislative process, in which bills get an up-or-down vote both in committee and on the House floor. They said they will try to divide each tax bill out for separate votes, but don't know if Democrats will agree.” (3/20/09)
