NHGOP - Statement on House GOP Budget Proposal

CONCORD - Today, former New Hampshire Governor and Republican State Committee Chairman John H. Sununu released the following statement on the Republican House budget proposal:

“The budget proposed by the House Republicans proves that with a little bit of belt tightening we can implement a fiscal plan that restrains spending and doesn’t require radical changes to New Hampshire’s tax structure. This budget, which in essence holds spending for 2010-2011 biennium at the same levels as 2008-2009 biennium, shows that we don’t need an income tax on capital gains, we don’t need a death tax that targets the middle class, and we don’t need an increase in the rooms and meals tax that will devastate New Hampshire’s tourism industry. The capital gains tax and the death tax will chase good, solid New Hampshire taxpayers out of the state. I applaud the House Republican leadership for their intelligent and responsible budget proposal.”
