Shea-Porter Announces Funding for Rural Community Facilities Projects

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter today announced that the 1st District will receive $127,500 in funding for essential community facilities and emergency responder projects. These projects may include childcare centers, hospitals, medical clinics, assisted living facilities, fire and rescue stations, police stations, community centers, public buildings and transportation. The City of Laconia will receive $100,000 and Ossipee Concerned Citizens, Inc. will receive $27,500. These funds are provided through the USDA Rural Development’s Community Facilities program, made possible by the passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
