WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter today announced that the University of New Hampshire/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Joint Hydrographic Center will receive $6,335,000 in funding. This grant will continue the research program at the Joint Hydrographic Center for surveying, seafloor mapping, electronic charting, and data visualization. It will study the data suitability and methodology for delineation of the U.S. continental margin and will develop innovative approaches to mapping essential fish habitat. This grant is through the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the United States Department of Commerce.
