CPR-Action - Reacts to proposed sales tax

CPR-Action Comments on Proposed Sales Tax and Added

Concord – Today, CPR-Action Executive Director, Kevin Smith commented on the report that the Legislature is considering a sales tax to make up for additional spending that has been added to the budget:

"Well, it was only a matter of time before we saw this happen. Today, rather than cut more spending from an already bloated budget, the House and Senate conferees added additional dollars to programs within Heath and Human Services as well as LCHIP. And once again, they find a way to stick it to New Hampshire families by taxing them on what else - family leisure and entertainment. It is rather unbelievable how this legislature simply has no regard for family budgets or for the businesses that will now have to endure a loss in revenue. Welcome to Tax Hampshire."
