Shea-Porter Secures More Than $600,000 for Law Enforcement in Commerce, Justice, Science Appropriations Act

WASHINGTON, DC – Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter today announced that more than $600,000 in funding for law enforcement in the First District was included in the Fiscal Year 2010 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. The bill passed the House of Representatives and is now required to go before the Senate.

 

“These funds will provide our local law enforcement officials with the communications tools, training, and equipment they need to help keep us safe,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter. “New Hampshire is one of the safest states in the country and I intend for it to stay that way.”

 

Congresswoman Shea-Porter was able to successfully secure funding for the following projects in the Fiscal Year 2010 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act:

 

Manchester Police Department

Portable Radio Replacement and other equipment: $315,000

 

Rochester Police Department

Record storage, training, and communications equipment: $285,000

 

Somersworth Police Department

Portable Radio Replacement: $22,000
