DSCC - DAY TWO OF AYOTTE CANDIDACY: ALREADY CHANGING HER TUNE ON BROKEN PROMISE

Ayotte to Union Leader: “Clearly, Intent Was To Continue Serving”

Ayotte to Nashua Telegraph: “Never Promised To Serve Out Full Term

Just two days into Kelly Ayotte’s candidacy for the U.S. Senate, she’s already changing her tune on a broken promise to Governor Lynch and the people of New Hampshire. According to an interview with the Nashua Telegraph, Kelly Ayotte said “she never promised to serve out the full term.” Just a day earlier, in an interview with the New Hampshire Union Leader, Ayotte said “Clearly, the intent was to continue serving.” These two claims fly in the face of each other and leave many questions unanswered. Did Ayotte or didn’t Ayotte give Governor Lynch and the people of New Hampshire her promise that she would serve out her full term?

“Kelly Ayotte can’t seem to get her story straight,” said Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Communications Director Eric Schultz. “Either she gave her word that she would serve out her full term to the people of New Hampshire or she didn’t. Either way, we are witnessing the launch of a candidate who is untested, unproven, and unprepared.”
