101st ANNUAL MEETING FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST
C-SPAN's LIVE COVERAGE BEGINS SATURDAY, JULY 18 AT 12:30 PM (ET)
C-SPAN will air the 101st annual meeting of the National Governors Association (NGA) this weekend, with LIVE coverage beginning Saturday July 18 at 12:30 PM (ET).
This year's meeting, which convenes from the Mississippi Gulf Coast and hosted by Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, will highlight NGA Chair Pennsylvania Governor Edward Rendell's yearlong initiative: Strengthening Our Infrastructure for a Sustainable Future, which focuses on a national infrastructure system to promote economic growth and environmental sustainability. The nation's governors will meet with Members of Congress and business leaders from around the country to discuss a number of issues facing the states. Emergency preparedness, freight transportation, energy and the economy will also be addressed during this year's meeting. For more information on this event, please visit www.nga.org.
