WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter today announced that the State of New Hampshire will receive $206,222 to repair roads damaged during the Mother’s Day floods on May 13, 2006. Six of the ten New Hampshire counties will benefit from these funds, including Belknap, Hillsborough, Rockingham, and Strafford counties in the First District. This grant, through an emergency relief program through the Federal Highway Administration of the United States Department of Transportation, allocates resources as a result of natural disasters or catastrophic failures from an external cause.
“I am pleased that New Hampshire is receiving much-needed assistance as a result of the Mother’s Day floods,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter. “Fixing our roads is essential for everyone’s safety.”
