3rd Annual Manchester City Marathon/ Health Expo 10/31





Manchester, NH – August 18, 2009 - Registration is open for the 3rd Annual Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Manchester City Marathon and Half Marathon. New this year is the Relay – a great way to participate in the fun but not having to run the full 26.2 miles. Applications for the marathon, half marathon, relay and kids race are available online at www.manchestercitymarathon.com. Runners can register online or print out an application and register by mail. Last year’s race reached capacity so register early!


The 2009 race will be run on Sunday, November 1st. The MCM is a challenging Boston Qualifier that takes runners on a scenic trip through the historic mill district of the Granite State's largest city. Runners in the full and half marathon will enjoy an exhilarating climb to one of the city's highest points for fabulous views of the Queen City, surrounding areas, and beautiful fall foliage.


Race weekend will be packed with fun events for the entire family. On Friday, October 30th and Saturday, October 31 the State Wide Health Expo will be held at the Radisson Hotel. Legendary Bill Rodgers will be attending the expo and will be presenting a unique sports clinic to attendees. Other local practitioners and vendors will be giving specialized clinics, too. Here, attendees can receive FREE blood pressure screenings, cholesterol screenings and other biometric tests. In addition, flu shots will be made available to those who come.


On Saturday, October 31, the 3nd annual Kids Marathon will be run at Merchantsauto.com stadium, home of the NH Fisher Cats.


On Race day, Athlete’s Village will feature entertainment, live broadcasting from WZID, and many local restaurants will be competing for the title of Best Soup In Manchester. A sure treat for all to enjoy!
