As a part of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) National Minority Enterprise Development Week (MED-WEEK), Ms. Melanie Levesque, president of TCS of America Enterprises, LLC of Brookline, NH was recently selected as the NH Minority Small Business Person of the Year for 2009 by the New Hampshire District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration.
“Melanie Levesque and TCS of America Enterprises, LLC (TCS) are very deserving of this award. Ms. Levesque has proven that with hard work and superior customer-oriented service, small business can be successful in the federal procurement arena,” said Witmer Jones, district director of the New Hampshire Small Business Administration.
TCS of America Enterprises, LLC is a 100% women-owned firm that is also 8(a) and Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) certified that was established in 2002. Over the past 7 years, the company has distinguished itself in the area of custom project management and procurement management with several government clients. TCS specializes in auditing, reselling telecom services, telecommunications expense management, and project management. TCS is a GSA schedule holder for Local Services Acquisitions and holds several certifications such as the Massachusetts State Office of Minority and Business Assistance (SOWMBA), New England Minority Suppliers Development Council (NEMSDC), and New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) DBE Certification.
Ms. Levesque attributes her accomplishments at TCS to their total focus on the success of their customers. In commenting on the success of TCS Ms. Levesque said, “As Telecommunications professionals we saw the complexity of the telecommunications environment and an opportunity to use our knowledge of the industry to advocate for our customers. We designed service offerings for commercial customers which include auditing, revenue recovery, cost containment, RFP, and monthly auditing to help facilitate relationships within the telecommunications industry. The services TCS provides helps businesses manage telecommunications billing, reduce costs and keep telecommunications expenses under control. We have seen an increased demand in government agencies desire to manage telecom expenses and reduce costs. They are looking for automated systems to simplify bill processing and auditing, which is a core competency for TCS.”
Ms. Levesque continued in recognizing her colleague, saying “Cindy Perkins has played a key role in moving the business forward. Her knowledge of telecommunications and database management has been a key factor in streamlining and automating billing analysis and reporting for our clients.”

This is the 27th Anniversary of MED-WEEK which was held in Washington D.C. on August 26 - 28, 2009. Prior to this event, each state holds a local competition and selects a state Minority Small Business Person of the Year to go on to further competition. The end result is the selection of the national winner at the event in Washington, D.C.
Melanie Levesque and TCS of America Enterprises, LLC will receive this award and be recognized at the New Hampshire SBA’s annual awards luncheon in the spring of 2010.
