Please join us this weekend at a FREE, day-long workshop in Amherst, Mass.

"News, Art and Community in a Digital Age: Exploring Ways to Better Link  Online News with Physical Spaces -- The Newshare Cafe and Other Ideas."

We'll convene from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at The Jones Library in downtown Amherst, Mass., to consider strategies for connecting physical and virtual communities around civic news and engagement. We'll consider the role of cafes, museums, libraries and other public spaces, and consider how public officials are increasingly serving up news on their own.

This is a FREE event, with an unstructured program. Think of this gathering as a bit like a "pod camp" -- what it becomes is what we bring. It's an unstructured, social gathering of folks concerned that around the United States, and in New England, the infrastructures which support a sense of community are under stress.

Please add your name to our wiki website if you are coming, and reply to this email. Tell us the topic you're ready to discuss and the news you'll bring. This will help us to get a feel for the emerging agenda, the likely expertise in the room -- and how many box lunches to order!

See you on Saturday!
