Provide Input to Federal Labor Dept. Officials, NCD Report on Housing

Dept. of Labor Listening Sessions
From January through March the U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) and its federal partners will hold a series of six Listening Sessions across the country. These sessions will provide an opportunity for members of the public to provide input to senior federal officials on their ideas for more effective ways to employ women, Veterans and minorities with disabilities, and what is currently working in their communities to increase employment among people with disabilities.

San Francisco: February 16 (DOL Region VI: AK, AZ, CA, HA, ID, NV, OR, WA, Guam)
Atlanta: February 24 (DOL Region III: AL, FL, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC, TN)
Boston: March 3 (DOL Region I: CT, ME, MA, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VT, PR, VI)

NCD Report on Housing Opportunities for People with Disabilities
The National Council on Disability (NCD) has released a report entitled The State of Housing in America in the 21st Century: A Disability Perspective. The report provides recommendations to improve housing opportunities for people with disabilities. The research contained in this report presents a comprehensive overview of the state of housing in the twenty-first century, and answers important questions about the current housing needs and options for people with disabilities living in the United States.
