DURHAM – First District Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter will be the featured speaker at a meeting of Strafford County Democrats Monday, Feb. 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Memorial Union Building on the University of New Hampshire campus in Durham.
The meeting is co-hosted by the Strafford County Democratic Committee and the UNH College Democrats. The event is free and open to the public. Congresswoman Shea-Porter will discuss current events in Washington. First elected in 2006 on the strength of a grassroots campaign that captured national attention, the congresswoman has made her mark as a forceful advocate for the people of New Hampshire. She will run for her third term this November.
Democrats will also hear from representatives of U.S. Senate candidate and Second District congressman Paul Hodes, Gov. John Lynch, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and the state and national Democratic Party. State legislators and local officials from around the county will also attend.
