Statement from Shea-Porter on Pharmacy Denying Woman Inhaler During Asthma Attack

New Hampshire Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, a founder and co-chair of the Congressional Asthma and Allergy Caucus, released the following statement regarding a report that a woman who was suffering from an asthma attack was denied an inhaler because she did not have enough money.

“It is unbelievable that someone could be denied an inhaler while suffering from a near fatal asthma attack,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter.  “Too many people are still unaware that asthma sufferers can die without proper access to care. We must do more to educate the general public and to raise awareness about this disease.”
