ANTHEM MANCHESTER CITY MARATHON REACHES RECORD NUMBERS
Manchester, October 25, 2010 -- Registration for the 2010 Anthem Manchester City Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay has hit a record high. Registration is expected to close within the next week when registration meets capacity of 2,000 runners. In the November 7 race, over 35 states and five other countries will be represented here in Manchester.
"It is amazingly to see the race grow and develop. Each year, the first weekend in November brings excitement to Manchester as thousands gather here to take part in Marathon Weekend. It is an honor to showcase our city and to be the State’s largest marathon” said Manchester Marathon Association president, Sarah Normand.
"It is a privilege to provide such a unique opportunity for our community members, nonprofit organizations and elite runners. On race day runners assemble here for different reasons but all end at the same finish line, conquering their own quest at the end of the day”.
Race weekend will be packed with fun events for the entire family. Friday, November 5 and Saturday, November 6 the state wide Health and Wellness Expo will be held at the Radisson Hotel on Elm Street in Manchester, NH. Both Dick Hoyt and Bob Hodge will be hosting a FREE Meet and Greet. Other local practitioners and vendors will be giving specialized clinics, too. Here, attendees can receive blood pressure screenings, cholesterol screenings and other biometric tests. In addition, flu shots will be made available to those who come.
The 2010 race will be run on Sunday, November 7th. The Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay will begin simultaneously at 8:50. The MCM is a challenging Boston Qualifier that takes runners on a scenic trip through the historic mill district of the Granite State's largest city. Runners in the full and half marathon will enjoy an exhilarating climb to one of the city's highest points for fabulous views of the Queen City, surrounding areas, and beautiful fall foliage.
