This week, CEI petitioned for a Supreme Court review of our lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the 1998 Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement. CEI attorneys argue that the $200 billion agreement between major tobacco companies and state attorneys general violates the Compact Clause of the Constitution.
