Why GOP lobbyists work so hard for a Republican majority
Washington Examiner - GOP lobbyists worked very hard to get Republicans elected, and Timothy Carney tells us why they bothered. In the business-as-usual atmosphere of Washington, the winning side's lobbyists often cash in on the victory - but the conservative grassroots' newfound emphasis on reducing the size of government likely will cut into the booty.

Wall Street Journal - Credit where credit's due: GOP takes a principled stand against spending by rejecting earmarks - a good 1st step. Cutting out earmarks won't solve the country's Big Government debt problem by itself, but it at least shows that Republican leaders are willing to listen and act accordingly.
