This Week's Feature
Nearing the end of a tumultuous political season and looking forward to the next session of Congress with great expectation, we at Americans United for Life pause to give thanks for the wonder of life in the womb and the privilege of being able to speak up for those who have no voice. We are thankful for meaningful work.
And we are thankful for you who make that work possible. It is because Members of Congress, leaders in Washington D.C., and journalists know that we represent your heart for all of our citizens, born and unborn, that our work has influence. I am reminded of the words of Albert Schweitzer, "In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit."
Thank you for your prayers, your calls, your letters, your hard work, and your financial contributions during what is a difficult time for many.
And we at AUL give thanks especially for our own children. It is in their eyes that we are inspired to believe and know that such beauty, such creativity, and such potential exists in all those who are not yet born and known to us all.
This week, as I enjoy some precious hours with my five children and wonderful husband, I will be thankful for moments that make the rest of our lives worthwhile. And I will look forward to returning to a different dynamic in Washington, D.C.
We are thankful for a House of Representatives run by a pro-life leadership team. We are thankful that newly elected, pro-life representatives will be working within our government to respect life. This has been difficult to achieve, but before we get into all that we hope to do, this is a good time to just stop and be thankful for where we are.
