NHDP - Chair Ray Buckley's Statement on the First Anniversary of the Recovery Act

Concord - One year ago today, President Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.  On the first anniversary of the signing of the bill, New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement:
"The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, signed into law by President Obama one year ago today, has created hundreds of jobs here in New Hampshire and saved thousands more.
"I want to thank President Obama, Senator Shaheen, Congressman Hodes, and Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter for their leadership in Washington on this issue.   Because of their efforts, the economy in New Hampshire is beginning to turn the corner and we are on the road to recovery.
"I also want to thank Governor Lynch and legislative Democrats here in New Hampshire for quickly putting the stimulus dollars to work saving jobs and investing in our state's future.   Thanks to Democrats at the national and state level, New Hampshire has effectively put the Recovery Act to work -- providing tax relief for small businesses, investing in infrastructure and energy efficiency improvements, and funding important job training programs.
