A locally owned and operated neighborhood convenience store Grand Reopening scheduled for March 1st
Manchester, NH – Hillsborough Market located on the corner of Manchester St and Lincoln St is planning a Grand Re-Opening on Monday, March 1st with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:00am conducted by the honorable Mayor Ted Gatsas. The public is encouraged to attend. “I am looking forward to opening the doors once again and helping to provide the local community and neighborhood with the food and grocery items they need”, stated owner Betty Delisle who has owned Hillsborough Market since 2000.
Betty’s son, George Kalantzis, is a Marine Staff Sergeant and made a special trip from his California base to attend his mother’s grand opening. Sgt. Kalantzis is only home for a few weeks before he is scheduled to leave for an eight month tour in Afghanistan. “I wanted to be here for the reopening before I had to leave for Afghanistan. I know how much this place (Hillsborough Market) means to my mom, I am very happy the timing worked out”, stated Sgt. Kalantzis.
With help from the Manchester Economic Development Office (MEDO), Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH) the Hillsborough Market has seen some dramatic improvements since it closed. This includes upgrades to the flooring, fixtures, and appliances which were more than 30 years old. “This opening could not have been possible if it were not for the work of the city, PSNH, and the SBDC”, stated Betty, “as a small business owner it is a great feeling to know you have people and organizations to turn to for help.”
To celebrate the re-opening of Hillsborough Market and promote the stores made-to-order sandwiches Betty is running a sandwich special starting March 1st which will run for the entire month. For only $5.00 you can purchase a made-to-order sandwich with a bag of chips and a can of soda. Hillsborough Market will have coffee and pastries available every morning and is open Monday-Saturday from 7:00am-10:00pm and on Sundays from 7:00am-6:00pm.
