March 2010 AFP Update

Dear Fellow AFP Activist,

Last month President Obama held a sham "bipartisan" health care summit hoping it would be the game-changer the Left needed to re-launch their scheme to take over our health care system. Even before the summit started, Democrats were threatening to use reconciliation, a parliamentary trick that requires only 51 votes to jam through this health care takeover.

AFP held our own Critical Care: The Patients' Summit to send a simple message: "the American people have rejected this trillion-dollar takeover of health care. So Congress should start over from scratch, or better yet, focus on policies that create jobs and get our economy moving again." Hundreds of activists showed up and made their voices heard right outside the health care summit at the Blair House. Next week we will have our "Honk Against the Health Care Takeover" event, which you can learn more about below.

Additionally, the Obama administration is quietly pushing for Cap-and-Trade, but this time they are not waiting for a vote in Congress. The president is now intent on using the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to bypass Congress and move full steam ahead to implement the Left's global warming agenda.

AFP is about to launch a nationwide effort to educate citizens about the EPA's move to impose job-killing, freedom-encroaching regulations and mandates on American businesses - at a time when our economy is desperately struggling to create jobs and rebuild prosperity. Stay tuned for more details on this, as our nationwide tour will launch very shortly.

We still face a lot of threats to our freedoms. The good news is the American public continues to reject the Obama administration's liberal agenda.

Thanks for all you're doing and let's keep fighting.

Honk Against the Health Care Takeover

On Tuesday March 16th at 12 noon your time, we're asking you to drive to your nearest congressional district office with a sign or bumper sticker reading "Honk Against the Health Care Takeover" and drive around the office for at least 15 minutes occasionally honking your horn to make your voice heard against the health care takeover.

Find your Representative's local office and get your Honk No bumper sticker HERE.

Forget Reconciliation - Why the Real Fight is in the House

If the House passes the Christmas Eve version of the Senate health care reform bill, the game is up and the American people lose. If, on the other hand, the House rejects the original Senate bill, it's all over.
