Candia and Nottingham to also receive funding
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter announced that the Manchester, Candia, and Nottingham Fire Departments will receive a combined total of $672,350 in grant funding. These grants are through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.
“New Hampshire has the best firefighters and first responders in the country, and it is vital that we provide them with the equipment they need to stay safe,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter.
Grant awards break down as follows:
Manchester Fire Department: $625,800 for 149 Self Contained Breathing Apparatuses.
Candia Fire-Rescue: $38,000 to replace the Self Contained Breathing Apparatus filling station in the Fire House. The filling station there now is obsolete for the station’s needs.
Nottingham Fire-Rescue: $8,550 for a thermal imaging camera.
“This is great news for our local fire-rescue departments,” said Shea-Porter continued. “These funds will allow our local departments to purchase the equipment they need in order to keep up their great work.
