Shea-Porter Resolution Honoring Social Workers Passes House

Washington, D.C. Today, the House of Representatives passed Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porters resolution honoring professional social workers. The Congresswoman, a former social worker herself, spoke on the House floor and urged her colleagues to vote in favor of the resolution.

Social workers dedicate their time, energy, and lives to assisting individuals, families, and communities,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter.  “As someone who used to work in social services myself, I understand the unique challenges social workers often face. My resolution honors the more than 600,000 people in our country who help improve our society by devoting their lives to social work.”

March is Professional Social Work Month and March 16th is World Social Work Day.
