Shea-Porter to Nominate Congressional Page

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter announced that she has been selected to nominate a page for the summer 2010 session of the U.S. Representatives Page Program. The session begins Sunday, June 6, 2010 and ends on Friday, July 2, 2010.

The Congressional Page Program is a great way for young people to learn about the legislative process and how their government works,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter.  “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I encourage students to apply.” 

Background: For nearly 200 years, Congressional Pages have been a part of the House of Representatives.  Pages assist Members of Congress with their legislative duties, deliver correspondence, and help prepare the House Floor for sessions.
