MANCHESTER – Today, Republican candidate Rich Ashooh announced that he has hired Jay Flanders to be campaign manager for his First Congressional District race.
“There are few people in New Hampshire more experienced in politics and campaigns than Jay Flanders,” said Ashooh. “Jay will play a vital role in my organization and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the campaign. I’m fortunate to have someone of his caliber leading my team.”
Flanders has a long history in Republican campaigns. Most notably, Flanders was the campaign manager for Chuck Morse’s successful primary race for Executive Council in 2006, and statewide field director for Bruce Keough’s campaign for governor in 2002. He has served as the deputy chief of staff and policy director to the State Senate, as a policy advisor to Gordon Humphrey’s gubernatorial campaign in 2000, managed several State Senate campaigns, and has coordinated numerous grassroots initiatives throughout the Granite State. Flanders most recently worked for the Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy, a free market think tank, where he directed the Center’s Transparency Project.
