Dr. Peter Bearse, Reagan-Republican & Independent-Conservative Candidate for Congress in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District, today spoke out on yesterday’s passage of “ObamaCare” in Washington. “It shows unmistakably that Congress is broke,” he said. “My campaign has been the only one all along to emphasize this as the #1 issue because it affects all others. No other candidate has revealed a strategy and program to fix the way Congress does “We the People”’s business. No other candidate has even tried to pick up the baton handed to us by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Visitors to our campaign website will see my “21st Century Pledge…,” with which we can resume the fight to reform Congress that Newt’s “Class of 94” began 16 years ago.”
The fight over Obamacare has revealed just how dysfunctional Congress has become -- as if we needed more evidence. With the previous passage of the so-called “stimulus” (TARP), bailout, cap’n trade and budget bills, the Congress failed to: read bills, deliberate, act in a bipartisan spirit, honor the Constitution, or respect private enterprise and competition. Instead, Congress has indulged in crony capitalism, special-interest deal-making for big-money campaign donors, bribery and vote-buying, and so demonstrated that the body that is supposed to represent the people is also corrupt. The best Congress money can buy has earned the disapproval of nearly two-thirds of Americans polled for its bad performance.
Peter noted that New Hampshire’s Tea Party and 912 movement members are “right on.” For they recognize that HOW Congress conducts the people’s business is bad no matter WHAT Congress is trying to do. “The ends do not justify the means” -- never have, never will.
