WASHINGTON, DC — Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter today announced that the Rochester Fire Department will receive $66,896 and the Londonderry Fire Department will receive $50,544 in grant funding. In Rochester, funds will be used to install a new sprinkler system in Station 1. Londonderry will use the funds to install a new fire alarm system and sprinkler system. These grant awards are through the Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grants, and are administered by the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration.
“These grants will enable the Rochester and Londonderry Fire Departments to update their facilities,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter. “Our firefighters deserve to work in safe buildings.”
