NHDP - AYOTTE SILENT ON JOB CREATION AS THOUSANDS OF GRANITE STATERS GO WITHOUT UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS

Kelly Ayotte Fails to Offer Plan to Create Jobs as She Defends Washington GOP's Efforts to Block Unemployment Benefits

CONCORD - Republican senate candidate Kelly Ayotte has spent another day silent on a plan to create jobs in New Hampshire, while thousands of unemployed Granite Staters are currently having their unemployment benefits held up by the political stunt work of Ayotte's friends in the Washington GOP.

Sen. Tom Coburn has become the second Republican senator in Washington to hold up the extension of unemployment benefits for New Hampshire's unemployed. Last month, Republican Sen. Jim Bunning from Kentucky held the benefits hostage on the floor for a week. At the time, Ayotte was quick to defend Bunning, rather than the thousands of New Hampshire families who saw their benefits disappear [New Hampshire Perspective's; 3/7/10].

"Will Ayotte go to bat again for the DC Republicans, rather than the thousands of families in the Granite State who desperately need unemployment benefits?" said Emily Browne, Press Secretary for the New Hampshire Democratic Party. "Kelly Ayotte has already proven she'll put the Washington Republicans before the people of New Hampshire. She's spending her time defending their stunts rather than telling our middle-class families how she's going to create the one thing they need most - jobs."
