Political and broadcast journalism veteran Carole (Paling) Alfano joins campaign staff
(Manchester, NH) First Congressional District candidate Rich Ashooh continues to build his campaign staff. The Bedford Republican announced today that Carole (Paling) Alfano is joining his team as Communications Director.
Ashooh said, “Carole’s experience working with the press and as a broadcast journalist is a tremendous addition to my campaign. She has a unique understanding of both politics and media in New Hampshire. I’m looking forward to her enthusiasm in delivering our campaign’s message of bringing common sense to Washington, restoring fiscal responsibility, and promoting economic policies that will grow private sector jobs for millions of Americans currently out of work.”
Over the past fifteen years, Alfano has served as Communications Director for Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau, the New Hampshire State Senate and the Pease Development Authority. She has also worked on Beacon Hill as a speechwriter. Before turning to politics, Alfano worked at WMUR-TV as a producer and at New Hampshire Public Television as an Executive Producer, and additionally as a reporter at several radio stations in the state. In 2000, she served as the Executive Producer of the New Hampshire Presidential Debates hosted by the late Tim Russert and Peter Jennings. She is also a licensed attorney.
Commenting on the opportunity to work on Ashooh’s congressional campaign, Alfano said, “Rich is part of the new generation of leaders that I’ve been waiting for to run for office, and so I’m delighted to join his team. He has the business experience, the ideas and the ability to listen that I believe will resonate with First District voters. I’m confident the more they learn about Rich, the more impressed they’ll be.”
