CEI - Video Confession Implodes Kerry-Graham-Lieberman Cap-and-Tax Deal

Global Warming Rebranding Scheme Busted by CEI Stealth Video

Washington, D.C. April 26, 2010 – The lead global warming cap-and-tax bill that was to be unveiled in a Monday press conference by Senators John Kerry (D-Mass.), Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.), and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) has suddenly imploded in the wake of covert video captured by the Competitive Enterprise Institute.
In the video, the trio is caught on film plotting the re-branding of their scheme to impose massive, crippling new energy taxes on the American people.
Rumors ricocheted around the nation’s capital on Monday.  Why did Sen. Lindsey Graham disown the Kerry-Graham-Lieberman cap-and-trade bill only two days before it was to be unveiled at a major press conference?  Many news stories suggested Graham was disappointed in the level of support he was getting from Team Obama and Majority Leader Reid.
“The real reason,” said Marlo Lewis, CEI Senior Fellow, “is that Graham saw the CEI video exposé, Tales from the Spin Zone: How the Sausage Known as Kerry-Graham-Lieberman Was Made, and realized his cover was blown.”
