Tax Day has come and gone, yet our wallets are still feeling the sting.
I'm sick and tired of handing my family's hard-earned cash over to the government - especially when I know what it is paying for: Barack Obama's "stimulus", universal health care, some earmarked pork-barrel project in a town you and I have never even heard of, and a Wall Street executive's year-end bonus! I know you share my frustration with our big spending federal government - and that's why I'm running to be the next U.S. Senator from New Hampshire.
Our state has long set an example in American political culture. And if you send me to Washington, New Hampshire will once again set an example, by initiating the greatest trend in American politics of our lifetimes...
Not just the important work of reforming health care or social security. I'm talking about fundamentally reforming Washington itself.
Will you join me in making Washington accountable to us, the voters? Let's raise $10,000 together before midnight on Friday and send Washington a message that cannot be ignored. Please follow this link to make a contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more.
We have every right to be frustrated with the federal government and those who "represent" us. For too long, special interests and back room dealing have reigned in Washington, and both parties are to blame. It's time to take charge, and change business as usual. I'm ready to offer four pieces of legislation as soon as I am sworn in that will start the ball moving in the right direction:
- Term limits for all Members of Congress
- A Constitutional Line-Item Veto for the President
- Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution
- Elimination of earmarks from the budget process
It won't be easy implementing these four initiatives, but I'm ready to stand on my principles and fight to put Washington on the path towards reform. And perhaps in our children and grandchildren's lifetimes, they won't cringe at the words, "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help."
But it will never happen if we continue to elect career politicians who are looking for a comfortable seat at the special interest table, or others who will simply go along with the party bosses to get along. And that's why I'm asking you to stand with me today. If elected, I pledge to only seek two terms in the Senate and never request an earmark or abuse my position. I further pledge to set an example by making my Senate office expenditures and meeting schedule transparent and open to public view. No back room deals and no runaway spending at taxpayer expense. But I need your support to be that leader.
Can I count on you to help me show Washington we demand reform by following this link and making a contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more to our campaign before midnight on Friday?
P.S. I'm sick of the tax-and-spend culture in Washington, and I'm not willing to stick my two daughters with the bill. I'm running for the U.S. Senate to reform business as usual in Washington. Will you join me in sending Washington this message by helping our campaign raise $10,000 before midnight on Friday?
