Shea-Porter Announces More Than $90,000 for Chester Fire Department

WASHINGTON, DC — Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter today announced that the Chester Fire Department will receive $92,074 to replace and/or upgrade the Department’s "air-packs.” Air packs are breathing apparatuses used by firefighters during a fire rescue.  This grant is through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program provided by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency, in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration.

“These funds will help keep our first responders safe,” said Congresswoman Shea-Porter. I am very pleased that the Chester firefighters will benefit from this grant.”
