Elliot at River’s Edge celebrating Topping Off Ceremony on May 5th

Manchester’s largest development project in more than 30 years is making significant progress

Manchester, NH – The Elliot at River’s Edge, Manchester’s largest development project in approximately 30 years, takes a significant step forward with the topping off of Elliot Hospital’s soon-to-be Ambulatory Care Center.  A public topping off ceremony will be held on May 5th beginning at 6:00pm to recognize this symbolic moment in the development project.  “This project is all encompassing, not only will it provide Manchester with a state-of-the-art Ambulatory Care Center and lead to the creation of hundreds of jobs but it enhances the desirability of Manchester with the addition of retail and commercial space and a riverfront park.” stated Mayor Ted Gatsas.  The Mayor went on to add “Manchester is already the leading provider for healthcare services in New Hampshire and the completion of River’s Edge will only enhance our standing throughout the Northeast and make Manchester the destination for those in need of the highest quality healthcare”.

“Although considerable, the significance of River’s Edge is not just about its size and scope.  Once completed, River’s Edge will result in an approximately 500,000 sq. ft. mixed-use sustainable project that will stand as one of the best examples of a public/private development initiative ever seen in New Hampshire,” stated Jay Minkarah, Director of Manchester’s Economic Development Office.  The Manchester-based development company, Anagnost Companies, is developing the project and has a long history of success in the city.  Recently, Anagnost Companies invited the public to sign the final steel beam that will be anchored into place at the May 5th ceremony.  “We wanted to provide the residents of Manchester with the opportunity to be part of this historic moment,” said Dick Anagnost, owner of Anagnost Companies.  This ties into the company’s slogan, “Made for New Hampshire by New Hampshire”.

Once completed, the Elliot at River’s Edge site will include a 258,000 sq. ft. urgent care center for Elliot Hospital (expandable to 376,500 sq. ft.), a 126,000 sq. ft. medical office building, a 24-unit apartment building, 11,300 sq. ft. retail commercial building,  two parking garages and a Riverfront park.  The project is estimated to create at least 200 to 250 new permanent jobs and help retain more than 800 jobs.
