Knights Support Portsmouth Priests

The non-affiliated Casey Function Center offered space to an organization that rejects the views of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.  The Knights of Columbus disavows the actions of the management of the Casey Function Center.  The Portsmouth Council of the Knights of Columbus has been instructed, because of the actions of the Casey Function Center, to immediately remove itself from the premises.  The rental decision was made by an organization that is not directly connected to the Knights of Columbus.  Many of the members of the Casey Home Association, parent organization of the Casey Function Center, are, unfortunately, members of the order.  However, the two are separate and distinct legal entities.

The Knights of Columbus finds the attempt by NARAL, an organization diametrically opposed to the Teachings of the Catholic Church, to smear its lack of respect for human life on the Knights to be abhorrent.  The action of the two Reverend Fathers to stand firm in their support for the dignity of human life is applauded and we, the New Hampshire State Council Knights of Columbus, support their public stand and offer our support.

As a Catholic, family, fraternal, service organization the more than 7,500 members of the Knights of Columbus in New Hampshire encourage the work done by our local councils in support of vocations, and for women facing unplanned pregnancies.  The actions of one person do not reflect the attitude of the thousands of other Knights throughout New Hampshire and more than 1.7 million around the globe, in support of Life; our Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and Religious.
