Republican US Senate Candidate Jim Bender Reacts to Kentucky Senate Primary

Jim Bender - US Senate 2010

Trey Grayson, the Establishment Pick in Kentucky, Has Lost the Primary to Conservative Rand Paul

Jim Bender, Republican US Senate Candidate in New Hampshire, reacts to the results of the Republican Primary Election in Kentucky:

“Kentucky voters have told the Washington establishment to stay away from their elections.  In New Hampshire, we’re going to do the same,” said Jim Bender.  “Rand Paul is an example of the strength of ‘We the People’ versus they ‘the DC insiders.’”

“The Beltway Bosses have picked Kelly Ayotte as their candidate for US Senate.  Secretive efforts were made by Washington insiders to team up Ayotte with losing candidate Trey Grayson of Kentucky. A joint fundraising committee (the “Ayotte Grayson Victory Committee”) was created to raise money for both Washington picks at the same time.”

When this news broke, The Union Leader editorialized: “The party bosses in D.C. think they know better than the locals how to pick winning candidates. They don't. They should butt out and let the people who actually live here decide.”

Jim Bender also said, “I trust the voters of New Hampshire not to be tricked by the same old Washington games.  I’m going to Washington to restore trust in government, unleash the private sector to create more jobs, and get spending and taxes under control.”
