NHDP - Chair Ray Buckley Lauds President Obama's Call for Passage of Small Business Jobs Package

New plan will continue efforts to help economy recover from the worst recession since the Great Depression

Concord - Today, President Obama urged Congress to pass a jobs package that will invest in small businesses and continue to help the economy grow.  New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement applauding the president's efforts:

"President Obama and Democrats in Congress have worked diligently to clean-up the economic mess created by 8 failed years of Republican leadership in Washington.  From the Recovery Act to the passage of historic health insurance reform, Democratic efforts have helped the economy rebound from losing nearly 800,000 jobs per month to creating almost 300,000 - a net increase of 1.2 million.

"The Small Business Jobs Package will build on these efforts, and help even more small businesses grow by extending credit and supporting investments with new tax credits.  I applaud the President Obama's new plan, and hope it will be passed swiftly by Congress.

"Here in the Granite State, small businesses are the backbone of our economy.  I call on Republicans, both in Washington and New Hampshire, to join the president in supporting this critical proposal."
